Activities conducted by agencies, groups, or individuals that do not meet the requirements of national or regional accreditation shall be acceptable, if the content is clearly related to the enhancement of psychology skills, values, and knowledge. Actual contact hours, excluding breaks and lunch, shall be credited. **“K.A.R. 102-2-4a states continuing education shall be oriented to the enhancement of social work practice, values, ethics, skills or knowledge. Additionally, some programs have been pre-approved through the BSRB, which means their CEUs are approved. However, it is not mandatory that ceu providers hold pre-approval from the BSRB”SW FAQ on KSBSRB website. “Acceptable continuing education, as defined in K.A.R. 102-2-1a and whether taken within the state or outside the state, shall include…An academic social work course; a program, seminar, institute, workshop, or minicourse…; a cross-disciplinary offering in medicine, law, the behavioral sciences, a foreign or sign language, a computer science, professional or technical writing, business administration, management sciences, or other disciplines if the offering is clearly related to the enhancement of social work practice, values, ethics, skills, or knowledge. The maximum number of allowable continuing education hours shall be 10; a program presented by an approved program provider.” – 102-2-4a of the Kansas Administrative Rules (K.A.R.) for Social Workers
